This audit indexes Meta’s own specifications for automated creative changes. It is a map of what the platform says those systems do, held next to Darwin IQ Labs field data so later releases can separate adjustments that coincide with better lower-funnel conversion from adjustments that coincide with visual fatigue.
Behaviors in scope
- Dynamic creative assembly. Platform-side composition of creative elements into the unit that enters the auction.
- Dynamic aspect ratio cropping. Automated reframing of an asset to the placement’s ratio.
- Auto-generated brightness adjustments. Automated changes to luminance after the asset is supplied.
The reference version for this record is Graph API v21.0, as published in Meta’s business and developer specifications. The upstream document set begins at the Meta Marketing API. This page does not reproduce those specifications.
Crosswalk
The question the audit is built to answer is conditional: for which of the three behaviors does the automated change line up with higher lower-funnel conversion efficiency, and for which does it line up with visual fatigue. Darwin IQ Labs performance data is the field side of that crosswalk. A related visual-memory record, index No. 104, covers hook modality in silent-start feeds. It is a separate measurement and is not a result about cropping or brightness.
What this release states
Spec 402 names the three behaviors, the source authority, and the API version. It does not yet assign a direction — improvement or fatigue — to any single enhancement. That assignment waits on a dataset release that states it. Until then, treating any of the three as uniformly helpful or uniformly harmful is outside this record.
